"This volume deals with the enzymes involved in the synthesis and degradation of complex saccharides, beginning and ending at the monosaccharide level. The grouping of the enzymes into three sections-- enzymes of sugar activation, of complex saccharide synthesis and of complex saccharide utilization--is based on probable biological function.
